On Monday morning, at the main railway station in the Czech Republic, Olomouc, a young man poured a flammable liquid on himself on the platform between the cars and set it on fire – as a result, he died.

“Since this morning, we have been investigating the death of a young man who was found on the platform of the railway station in Olomouc. It is most likely a suicide. The cause of death was apparently tampering with fire,” police spokesman Libor Heitman said.

According to him, more detailed circumstances of the tragic incident are the subject of an investigation.

Emergency doctors could not help the young man.

“The rescue service did not intervene, our side only sent a forensic medical expert to the scene after a police investigation to examine the body of the deceased and examine the charred torso,” said a representative of the medical service.

The tragedy did not affect railway traffic.

In April of last year, a 62-year-old Ukrainian set himself on fire while standing in line at the Consulate General of Ukraine in Krakow on the morning of April 13. Eyewitnesses said that he shouted calls in Ukrainian to return to his homeland and defend the country from the Russians.
